Freelance Account Director

 

Starting 20th September for 2-3 months

Likely to be an Inside IR35 contract


The Role

In your role, you support, through the strategic, collaborative and long-lasting relationships that you establish with your clients. As part of your key responsibilities, you understand your client business, their challenges and objectives; you make sure that your clients are satisfied and that they get a high-quality outcome and service, delivering them value for money.

You are resourceful, you look complexity in the eye and roll-up your sleeves to make things happen. Your priorities are to generate value for your clients, becoming an invaluable partner to work with, alongside growing Rufus revenue, making it profitable and contributing to great work which deserves industry recognition. 

 

Key skills and competencies

  • Client Service Expertise – able to develop and manage key client relationships. Someone who is not afraid to corridor-walk and build bridges to quickly secure new opportunities.
  • Strategic and business acumen, including the ability to spot value-generating opportunities and lead the quarterly account planning.
  • Confidence in interrogating client briefs, using initiative and challenging clients where necessary.
  • Understanding the importance of strong risk management and project management approaches, balanced with strong client service sensibilities.
  • Appreciation of the delivery process, supporting the delivery team in moving things forward, in line with the plan and budget.
  • Selling skills to ensure organic growth and new business, in addition to negotiation skills and ability to manage difficult conversations and close deals successfully.
  • Financial control through accurate forecasting against revenue and profitability targets.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate leadership with the team, with partners and, above all, with clients.
  • Knowledge and existing expertise across the Rufus Leonard core offer areas: brand optimisation, service design and build, organisational engagement and technology.

 

Experience

  • At least 5 years, extensive client servicing experience at a leading agency, professional services firm or similar organisation.
  • Experience managing portfolios in excess of +£1/1.5M in revenue per year
  • Successful track record of building exceptional client relationships and delivering value to clients and the agency.
  • Proven understanding of the key disciplines required to deliver brand experiences in line with Rufus Leonard’s core offerings.
  • Experience of working closely with project managers, production, technical and strategy teams.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering excellent presentations and proposals.
