Our Technical Programme Director will work with the Head of Delivery to re-invigorate and optimise the delivery processes that underpin our work on a broad range of creative and technical projects and programmes of work. They will bring fresh industry experience in applying agile methods whilst managing the intricacies of scope with commercial effectiveness.

Working with the Head of Delivery, the role’s initial primary focus is on consolidating and evolving the work we have done so far on improving the way we deliver our full range of digital projects. Then, ensuring that the processes are fully understood within the business and that they are followed.

You will be responsible for overseeing several portfolios and ultimately the projects and programmes within them. You will have a focus on the constant improvement in the way we manage projects through the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Delivery with the development, consolidation and implementation across the business of first-class project delivery processes
  • Ensuring that the right processes are used on each project
  • Validating all plans and sign-off of all digital Statements of Work, proposals and budgets for specified portfolios
  • Ensure all projects within a programme are effectively and efficiently managed from start to finish, maximising on-time and on-budget as well as creating the conditions for 'right first time'
  • Ensure that relationships with third-party delivery partners are set up and managed to ensure commercial success
  • Establish business wide training and familiarisation programmes for process deployment and improvement
  • Managing specific programmes and projects where appropriate
  • Ensure that senior management receives full status reports on all relevant programmes, with all issues and opportunities clearly explained
  • Work with Client Services so that clients understand the benefits of our working practices
  • Be a reassuring face of Rufus Leonard’s delivery function at pitches

Qualifications & Skills

  • Agile methodology. i.e. be practitioner of both Waterfall and Agile ways of working
  • PRINCE2 qualification and SCRUM Master (desirable)
  • Project tracking tools such as JIRA
  • Programme management/PMO experience
  • Negotiating ways of working and governance practices with senior client stakeholders
  • Your should have worked In a senior digital delivery role, ideally from a large agency network, management consultant or software solutions provider (SI)
  • Strong people-facing and relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Commitment to delivering work to the highest of standards
