Job Description

This is a 9 month fixed term contract and the primary role is to provide technical support to Rufus Leonard staff and guests across both our Mac and Windows user base.  You will support  Service Desk requests which will be assigned and prioritised, or escalated to the 3rd line team.

You will be working  in a fun loving and supportive support team comprised of a Support Resource Administrator, a Support Technician, a Network Support Engineer and the IS Manager.

This support role will be one of the primary points of resolution for all internal users across a multi-platform and a host of various standard and custom applications. Additionally, you will be required to undertake routine preventative maintenance of our front-end and back-end systems, while also getting involved in some exciting projects.

The role is aimed to operate between the hours of 09:30 and 18:00, although a flexible approach to working hours is required. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1st and 2nd line support 
  • Adding, removing or updating user account information, resetting passwords, ticket updating, managing through to resolution
  • Support calls/e-mails and dealing with user issues on all desktop products
  • Undertake routine preventative measures, implement, maintain and monitor the companies security, support, management and productivity systems
  • Work with the hardware and software firewalls, anti-virus, email and web filtering, patch management, deployment, messaging, web, database, file and print servers
  • Support the business backups and monitoring systems and report any failures, problems
  • Order IT equipment, also assist with the inventory
  • Help manage software licenses, media, hardware, and other IT supplies
  • Assist with implementing new IS technical projects

Technical skills:

  • Experience with Macintosh operating systems - essential
  • 3-5 years experience - 1st & 2nd line 
  • Desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office suite
  • Microsoft technology knowledge 
  • Casper/JamF, MDM (mobile device management)
  • DEP (device enrolment program)
  • FileVault (Apple Mac encryption)
  • Sophos (our security product) - desirable
  • Experience in an Agency environment - desirable
